If you love your car and don't feel like replacing it anytime soon, but also need a few upgrades in terms of appearance and capabilities, car parts and accessories are a great way to go about it. You won't have to go through the process of shopping and paying for a new car, and you can also customize your current ride to your exact preferences and specifications.
What should you know before upgrading your car audio system?
A great way to make your drive time even more enjoyable is to have a good audio system on deck. Our Orlando Toyota body shop experts are here to give you tips on upgrading your audio system - and don't forget, you can shop with us for all of the supplies you need!
Tip #1: Plan before you buy. A new audio system is no small investment and it's not something you should buy on a whim. Audio systems are complex and also offer a ton of options, and you need to decide what you want out of your listening experience before you can choose one. Do you want better clarity and sound quality? More bass? A more useful infotainment system? Make a list of needs and use it to narrow your options and choose the system that's perfect for you.
Tip #2: Start with the head unit or receiver. This is the main hub and most important part of your new audio system so choosing and installing one is key and should be your first priority. This is also where you'll be able to upgrade elements like Bluetooth, navigation, satellite radio, weather, and more. It also sends powers to your speakers.
Tip #3: Invest in new speakers. If you're going to spend the money on a new audio system for your Orlando Toyota, you want to spend a little more and buy some new speakers. Who wants tinny old speakers to deliver all of the quality and clarity you're going to have in your listening experience? Make sure you get the right amount - our new Toyotas offer anywhere from 4-10 speakers - and arrange them for the best sound possible.
Tip #4: Think about adding an amplifier. If you add new or additional speakers, you're going to need more power to keep them up and running (and you don't want your car battery to have to do all of the hard work). Adding an amplifier will fill the power void, distributing it more efficiently. A four-channel amp should work fine for the basics, but if you want to add more speakers than what you have, you might need to look for one with more speakers. The experts at Toyota of Orlando can help you decide!
Tip #5: Consider a subwoofer. Is bass one of the must-haves on your list? If so, you'll need to invest in a subwoofer. This special speaker adds a deeper element to your audio. Just keep in mind that it's big and will need to go inside of your trunk or backseat.
