Daily Car Care tips

Here we are, giving you MORE advice (i.e. nagging you) about car care. We know, we know - you have enough on your plate just keeping up with a routine car care schedule of oil changes, tire rotations, and the like. We get it! Owning a car is a big responsibility. However, if you want to keep your car in the BEST shape possible, daily car care is really in your best interest. But before you throw your hands up, check out this list of quick, easy, and cost-free ways to care for your car on the daily and keep its value high.

Five daily car care items to check off your list

Tip #1: Clean it out every day. If you want to keep your car in the best shape possible, you should clean it out every day. And we're not talking car detailing (although you should be doing that on a routine basis, too). We're talking just taking out the trash, bringing your coffee mug inside, and making sure you didn't leave crumbs everywhere. Removing the food, drink, and trash from your car every day will help keep it free of insects and other pests.

Tip #2: Check your tires. You should do a once over on your tires every single day as part of your car care. Just glance them over - make sure none of them are flat or underinflated and that there's no visible damage to them, like puncture marks or sidewall separation. Also, if you notice the tread looks low, bring your ride to our Orlando auto service center!

Tip #3: Give it a walkaround inspection. It's always a good idea to just walk around your car ONCE before you get behind the wheel. This will allow you to quickly and easily spot any issues that might be arising or any accident damage that happened when you're not around (those shopping carts get wild).

Tip #4: Don't ignore warning signs. Never ignore warning signs - this is a critical part of car care. If you notice something out of the ordinary in terms of smells, sounds, or performance, bring your car to Toyota of Orlando immediately to see what's going on. You should also never ignore your dashboard warning lights - they turn on to let you know that there's an issue, and the longer you wait to address it, the higher the bill can get.

Tip #5: Don't let your gas tank get to "E". It's bad to ride around on empty, friends. This can actually damage your fuel pump and in turn over time, even do damage to your engine. Try to keep things at a quarter tank at least if you can.
